Start a garden node
Each garden in Fruit of the Fjords runs as its own branch of the nursery. You pick a specialty that suits your climate, your space and your interests. The heart of it is Nordic berries, but any wholesome plant you're passionate about is welcome.
How it works
1. Plant a mother crop. Start with seeds and starter plants. Berry Fortress can send free plants to help you begin. Label and record everything from day one, because a named cultivar is worth far more than an unknown one.
2. Propagate. Multiply your mother plants by cuttings, seeds and suckers. Every established plant becomes another source, so your stock grows faster each year. You record your progress, and what you learn, in our shared inventory system.
3. Ship. When we launch, orders are shared out among the gardens. Aim for around fifty shipping-ready plants so you can earn from your first season.
How does a node earn money?
Income follows the plants you ship. Part of each sale covers shared costs like the website, payments and shipping supplies, and the rest goes to your node to share with your team as you see fit. The exact split will be set before launch, and every node leader can see how the numbers work.
Is there a catch to the free plants?
No. They're there to help you get started.
How long do I have to commit?
There's no fixed commitment. You can pause, stop or restart your node whenever you like. A heads-up just helps us keep the inventory accurate.
What happens to my plants if I stop?
They're yours, whether you were given them or bought them. Keep them, pass them to another node, sell them to the nursery, or plant them wherever you like.
If several gardens grow the same plant, who ships it?
Orders rotate between gardens so nobody gets swamped in spring. You can ask for more orders when you've got plenty, or pause when you're away.
